M.Des. in Game Design
Push the boundaries of interactive entertainment. Prepare for senior creative director, design lead, and interactive innovation roles.
Lead & Innovate From Day 1
M.Des. in Game Design is a graduate-entry Master's programme built for students who want to go beyond craft into leadership. The first 12 months lay the same intensive, industry-facing foundation as our PGDP — direct access to working professionals, real studio pipelines, and a five-field core taught by full-time industry faculty.
The second year moves into advanced specialization and a 6-month thesis project, developed under senior creative direction. Graduates leave with a defended thesis, a director-level portfolio piece, and a professional network built over two full years in the industry.
- ✓ Shared Foundation, Built to Scale: The first year mirrors our PGDP structure, so students enter Year 2 with a full 12 months of industry-grade fundamentals already behind them.
- ✓ Advanced Specialization: Year 2 layers senior-level Master Classes — Narrative Design, Multiplayer Programming, and further craft topics — on top of the five-field core.
- ✓ Thesis-Led Leadership Track: A 6-month final project, defended and reviewed as the centerpiece of graduation, positioned as a director-level portfolio piece rather than a student exercise.
- ✓ Two Years, One Continuous Network: Extended time with full-time faculty and a wider span of Master Class instructors than any of our other programmes.
What You Will Master
Five full-time faculty run continuously across all 8 semesters as a constant backbone — they are not tied to any single semester or year. Semesters 1–4 are identical to the PGDP structure; Semesters 5–8 are M.Des.-exclusive.
Major Selection
- Specialization choice begins after Semester 2
- A minimum of 3 majors from the 5 core fields
- The same selection model used across B.Sc., B.Des. and PGDP
Mandatory Summer Internship
- Runs after Year 1, at the end of Semester 4
- Mandatory — required in order to progress into Year 2
- The shared foundation’s closing milestone
PGDP Exit Point / M.Des. Upgrade
- The end of Semester 4 is the shared-foundation decision point
- PGDP students either exit with the diploma…
- …or upgrade into M.Des. Year 2 and continue
6-Month Final Project — Semesters 7–8
- No new Master Class content runs across these two semesters
- Both are dedicated to the final project and its thesis defense
- Mentored by the five full-time faculty
- Reviewed by rotating Master Class instructors
